25th Anniversary Trip - Day 4

Day 4

We have a lazy start, up at 8, down for breakfast.  Then Brenda wants to get some shopping in, so we head to the Gothic area to visit some shops.  Oh no, a shoe store! Hours go by ( not really, just felt that way)!  Brenda gets two pairs of shoes, and we start back toward the hotel looking for shops on the way.

Our driver arrives at 1 pm to ferry us to the port.  We sign in and board the Azamara cruise ship!

The ship feels a little foreign, and it takes us some time to settle in.  We go for a light snack at one of the buffets.  I drop my dish, shattering it in the floor….great start to the trip.  There are a lot if varied aged people in board, some very experienced cruiser. We are just beginners here, so we are mostly watching and trying to look like we belong!

We walk around the ship a little the head back to our stateroom to wait for the Mustering drill that is mandatory.  They actually do a roll call, so you can not skip out!  During the drill, we meet a nice couple from London, who are also on their anniversary trip.  When I ask them which one, he tells me their 1st! But they have been together 35 years.  Apparently they had to get married due to some new UK law that would have seen them paying a huge tax.  Weird.

After the Mustering drill, we head back to the spa, earlier Brenda and I took a tour and she signed up for a draw.  You had to be there to win.  There was quite the crowd, with 8 envelopes to win, they start calling out rooms and names. With one envelope left, our room and Brenda’s name is called! She won $50 to use at the spa! Exciting first day.   After dinner at the Window Cafe, we thought about going to the piano bar.   It was not open yet, and a bunch of people were milling about waiting, so we went back to the stateroom to rest and wait.  Too tired from the day of travelling, we just hit the sack, excited to see Ibiza tomorrow.
